In keeping with our commitment of excellent service to our groups and members, HMAA upgraded our claims and benefits system on January 1, 2024. This resulted in changes to some of our services including monthly premium bills and online portals.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience during this upgrade to our system and portals.
Medical and dental claims are processed in the new system for services rendered from January 1, 2024. Claims for 2023 services are processed in HMAA’s old system. There are no changes to our procedures or address for claim submission.
Monthly premium bills were or will be generated as follows.
- In mid-December 2023: Groups received a bill for January 2024 premiums from HMAA’s new system. It reflected January 2024 eligibility based on our records as of December 1, 2023. It did not reflect any outstanding balances (retroactive adjustments, benefit changes, past-due premiums) or credits (overpayments, terminations, adjustments, etc.) for 2023.
- In mid-January 2024: Groups received an extra bill from HMAA’s old system only if they had an outstanding or credit balance for 2023 coverage.
- In mid-January 2024: Groups received a bill for February 2024 premiums including any adjustments resulting from 2024 eligibility changes received December 2, 2023 to January 9, 2024.
- In mid-February 2024: Groups will receive a bill for March 2024 premiums.
Bills are viewable and payable online at hmaa.com/billpay or by check. If you have a newly assigned policy number, the new policy and authentication code will need to be added under your online bill pay user account.
In January 2024, new ID cards were generated and sent to applicable members.
Our groups’ plan administrators will have access to a new and improved portal powered by HWMG and the Javelina Web platform by Eldorado Computing, a division of Mphasis Healthcare Solutions. It will have a new look with features including self-login reset and managing enrollments, member ID cards, and eligibility information.
In early February 2024, plan administrators will receive an email with login instructions to our new group portal. Instructions will also be available at hmaa.com/employers/online-services.
Our old online portals at https://www.hmaaonline.com and https://oga.hmaa.com do not reflect member eligibility updates that occurred after our system conversion. By March 1, 2024, HMAA will fully transition to our new group portal, and OGA will be discontinued.
HMAA members have access to a new and improved portal powered by HWMG and the Javelina Web platform by Eldorado Computing, a division of Mphasis Healthcare Solutions. It has a new look with features including self-registration; self-login reset; and access to member ID cards, eligibility, and claims information. Instructions are available at hmaa.com/members/online-services. Your login information to our old portal will not work in the new system.
Claims information for 2023 and prior services are available on HMAA’s old portal at https://www.hmaaonline.com through December 31, 2024. The old portal does not reflect eligibility information.
To ensure timely and secure notification of claims information, members may choose to receive only electronic EOBs for medical services, viewable on HMAA’s new online portal. To elect this option, login to HMAA’s new online portal and select paperless EOBs, or contact our Customer Service Center for assistance.
HMAA will still mail a paper EOB if a member visits a non-participating provider and pays for services up front, which results in HMAA mailing a payment directly to the member.
Our participating providers have access to a new and improved portal powered by HWMG and the Javelina Web platform by Eldorado Computing, a division of Mphasis Healthcare Solutions. It has a new look with features including self-login reset, multiple user accounts per TIN, and access to member eligibility and claims information. Access the new system at https://hwmghealthplanportal.javelinaweb.com. Your login information for our old portal will not work in the new system.
HMAA members’ medical and dental claims for services rendered in 2023 and prior can be viewed and downloaded from our old online portal at https://www.hmaaonline.com through December 31, 2024. Please note this old system does not reflect member eligibility information.
